Hon. Members Criteria Based Decentralized Funds

Under the criteria based grants, funds and allocated to Provincial in utilizing these funds for the provincial development purposes the Divisional Secretariats, Municipalities, Pradesheeya Sabha and the Regional Education Offices act as implementing agencies.

These funds are allocated to Hon. Members annually through the financial statement in order to fulfill the requests made to them by the public pertaining to development work during their field tours within their electorates and other development work they personally feel necessary.

Generating Self Employment Opportunities

For starting any legitimate business/ industry suitable for the province as a self employment venture.

Fields in which economic infrastructure facilities can be development

• Rural Road Development
• Supply of drinking water
• Providing electricity and street lamps
  

Fields in which social infrastructure facilities can be developed :

Education

• Repairs to school buildings, safety fences and gates, school sanitary Work and supply of drinking water, play grounds, children parks, supply of electricity.
• Desks, benches, chairs and other essential items for pre- schools.
• Books for govt. libraries
• Books and equipment for poor and clever school children.

 Health (Western and Ayurveda)

• Repairs to buildings at rural health clinics, Water supply and sanitary facilities, supply of desks, chairs and electricity.
• Supply of electricity to Ayurveda Dispensaries
• Supply of housing- Asbestos tiles or corrugated metal sheets for roof.

Rural Development Work

• Chairs, galvanized sheets, electric generators.
• Supply of electricity to common places and Rural Development Society Halls.

For Disabled Persons

• Special implements used for the benefit of the disabled.

Gemi Aruna Provincial Development Program and Non-CDE Road Development Program

Gemi Aruna and non- CDE road development program is a public participatory program.
Development of infrastructure facilities like roads,  electricity and potable water in Grama Niladhari divisions with less facilities and more poverty and not covered by any other development programs in selected.  Divisional Secretaries divisions in the Province is the principal aim of this program.
This program was implemented in the Uva Province during the year 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 where Provincial Planning Unit functioned as the operative institution and the Divisional Secretarial as implementation institution.
